In response to the mounting challenges facing Australian agriculture—ranging from soil acidification to mineral depletion—Lava Blue and Carbonaught have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Central to this collaboration is the Atherton Carbonation Project, geared towards reviving broadacre farming profitability which has suffered a 22% drop since 2000. Leveraging Lava Blue's extensive basalt deposits and Carbonaught’s expertise in carbon removal and soil building, this partnership aims to rehabilitate agriculturally productive regions between Townsville, Cairns, and Georgetown. As the project unfolds, both entities remain committed to charting a sustainable and efficient course, driven by their shared vision for a resilient agricultural future for North Queensland.
